MEI is a charity, committed to improving mathematics education for all. It is at the forefront of curriculum development and runs the national Further Mathematics Support Programme (FMSP) and the Teaching Advanced Mathematics (TAM) course. The FMSP is a government funded project which aims to increase participation in A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics by supporting schools and colleges through professional development and providing enrichment and tuition for students. The TAM course is a sustained professional development course designed to support teachers of GCSE Mathematics who wish to teach A level Mathematics for the first time. With a focus on developing subject knowledge and pedagogy, the TAM course supports teachers in a variety of ways including study days, online support and school-based observations. MEI is seeking to make two new appointments.
This role will involve managing and developing aspects of the national FMSP programme, which may include coordinating and leading professional development, supporting students studying Further Mathematics, and/or promoting the uptake of mathematics post-16.
The role will focus on developing and delivering the Teaching Advanced Mathematics (TAM) course. This will involve working collaboratively with external partners, including universities, presenting study days and online sessions, supporting teachers in their schools/colleges, and producing online resources for these courses.
