Posted: 19/03/2015

The National STEM Centre in partnership with MEI and Casio is running a New to Teaching A level Mathematics residential summer school in York from 24th-28th August 2015.

The course will focus on an introduction to active learning and the use of technology in A level Mathematics. The aim is to increase teachers’ subject knowledge and deepen their understanding of mathematics topics featured at A Level. On completion of the course all participants will receive a free Casio graphical calculator and access to a free loan set of graphical calculators for three months during the following academic year.

The course is open to teachers with no more than three years' teaching experience who have a good degree in Mathematics, or a related subject, and will be teaching A level in September. The course is also suitable for candidates who have just completed their initial teacher training programme and are about to take up their first post.
