In 2016-17 MEI’s support for the new 2017 A level can be found at http://www.mei.org.uk/2017-pd. The one-day statistics course will be appropriate for any teacher who will be teaching the new maths AS/A levels. It will cover the main statistics topics and the changes in the ways these topics will be assessed from current S1 modules. Opportunities for using technology and large data sets will be highlighted in every session.
Teaching Statistics (TS) is a professional development course, spanning six months and offered by the Further Mathematics Support Programme, for teachers wishing to develop their own subject knowledge and classroom practice. There are two modules, TS1 and TS2 which cover the statistics content in the new A level Mathematics and the new Further Mathematics respectively.
