Mathematics and A level Reform

MEI has recently responded to the Ofqual consultation on A level reform. The proposed A level reforms have the potential to have a profound impact on AS/A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. To help inform the A level reform process from the perspective of mathematics, MEI has also produced this position paper. Please take the time to read the paper, and please do contact us if you have any feedback.

A modular system is clearly beneficial in offering a diverse range of topics to a broad spectrum of students.

Has anyone considered a university style system whereby candidates select a selection of modules at each level that specifically suit their individual requirement. (ie A student wishing to study Psychology at university could study a mixture of Pyscholgy modules but mix in S1 and S2 for example.)
