Further to the recent news that Ofqual has accredited the new OCR A level Further Mathematics B (MEI) specification, we are delighted to share the news that Ofqual has also accredited the new OCR AS level Further Mathematics B (MEI) specification. The specification is available on the OCR website

All of the new MEI maths AS and A level specifications have now been accredited.

Charlie Stripp, MEI Chief Executive said:

“It is excellent to hear that the new OCR(MEI) AS level Further Mathematics specification has been accredited. It has been designed to have routes that are teachable in year 12 alongside AS Mathematics as well as routes that are more suitable for students who wish to study more mathematics in year 13 to support their future studies.

The four new accredited MEI maths AS and A levels specifications provide a coherent set, reflecting MEI's approach to teaching and learning maths. Our aim is that students will enjoy studying for the new mathematics AS and A levels and will learn maths in a way that will develop deep, transferable mathematical thinking skills that they will be able to use confidently in further study, work and life.”

The MEI website provides further information about our new AS and A levels and the support that we offer for teaching them. You might also find it helpful to attend one of the following events.

We will be running a free pop-up day conference about the MEI Further Mathematics qualifications at de Morgan House Russell Square London on Saturday 20 May. The day will include an overview of the MEI qualifications and the opportunity to attend a choice of sessions to help you prepare for first teaching. Places are limited so please book quickly. Further details and booking.
