MEI’s annual Ritangle competition for teams of students is proving to be very popular once again with nearly 600 registered teams.
Ritangle aims to support the development of problem-solving skills and the use of technology in learning mathematics, both of which are strongly emphasised in the AS/A level Mathematics specifications.
Here is a quote from Anthony Clohesy, a maths teacher at Loughborough College, whose students are enjoying this year’s competition:
“I've been singing the praises of Ritangle to my students and prospective students again this year, and it is living up to the hype - my year 12s are really enjoying the questions, especially when they solve something with technology by writing their own code, after sometimes days of struggle. I've got a lesson a week of maths enrichment, it's fantastic to see the creativity and collaboration the competition brings out of them.”
We expect to announce the winning team and the full solution to this year’s Ritangle competition on Tuesday 17th December 2019 on our Ritangle web page.
