Those new to teaching GCSE Mathematics, whether currently training, newly qualified, or returning to the classroom, may be interested in MEI’s professional development course, Teaching GCSE Mathematics (TGM). TGM has been designed to support GCSE Mathematics teachers to develop their confidence, subject knowledge and pedagogical skills. This course is suitable for teachers from secondary, further education and a range of settings.
The course will provide participants with a blend of face-to-face study days and flexible online learning. The study days will cover subject areas such as proportional reasoning, geometry, and algebra, and will take place on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 January 2021 and Thursday 24 and Friday 25 June 2021. The live online sessions explore pedagogic themes such as Building confidence, Developing understanding, and Diagnostic teaching (including digital technologies). All TGM course tutors are accredited NCETM professional development leads.
