MEI and the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (managed by MEI) work with schools, universities and industry to provide opportunities for students to contribute to the enhancement of mathematics learning and to get involved in team mathematics competitions.

Maths Week England Competitions

MEI Desmos Maths Art Competition

As part of Maths Week England 2019 MEI is running a Desmos Maths Art competition. Students can submit entries of their best Desmos Art by Friday 22nd November and the best two in each of three age categories will win a Desmos T-shirt for themselves and their teacher as well as a pizza party for their classmates. AMSP Visualising The Climate Crisis Competition

As part of Maths Week England 2019 AMSP is running a Data Visualisation competition. Students can submit entries of their working out from the Visualising the Climate Crisis Resource and their resulting Data Visualisation by Friday 22nd November and the best entry will win a £25 voucher and feature on our website and the Royal Statistical Society’s blog. Ritangle is a competition for teams of A level Mathematics students, Scottish Highers or the International Baccalaureate, which runs in the Autumn term. Questions are released daily, via Twitter and the Ritangle webpage. In the final question, released in early December, answers to all the questions are used together to work out the single overall answer. No knowledge of mathematics beyond A level Mathematics required.

AMSP Maths Feast is an exciting and engaging competition for teams of Year 10 students based on problem solving, team work and communication skills. See the website for more details of the next competition!

AMSP/UKMT Senior Team Mathematics Competition is a team-based problem-solving competition aimed at year 12 and 13 students.

The AMSP Problem Solving competition challenges students to draw on their problem-solving skills.
