Subject Leader Development

This course is designed for teachers wishing to develop their approach to maths subject leading in a primary setting.


  • To reflect on your values and beliefs regarding teaching and learning in primary maths
  • To understand your own leadership style
  • To learn how to employ effective leadership strategies to secure improvement in the teaching and learning of maths in your school
  • To plan for development and improvement in maths in your school


The course comprises a day and a half of practical activities, discussion and the sharing of research and good practice to allow subject leaders to reflect on their vision and beliefs and consider how that translates into actions in school.
Day 1 – Leading with vision (full day)
Day 2 – Planning for development and assuring quality (half day)

Course dates and application

The cost of the course is £400 per teacher.
The dates and venue are yet to be confirmed. It is likely the venue will be central London.
