Desmos competition results

Posted: 09/12/2019

As part of Maths Week England 2019, MEI ran a Desmos Maths Art competition. Students were asked to create the best art that they could using the Desmos graphing software.

We were very impressed by both the quantity and the quality of the submissions. It was difficult to choose winners but the judges selected two pieces of art in each of three categories (years 7-9, years 10-11 and years 12-13).

The winning entries were from Claremont High School, Brent; Hampstead School, Camden; Mill Hill County High School, London; The Abbey School, Reading; The Westwood Academy, Coventry and King Edward VI School, Stratford-upon-Avon. Each received prizes of a Desmos T-shirt and a pizza party courtesy of Desmos.

Take a look at the entries, and the maths behind each one.
