Chris Saker is a National Coordinator for the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme, which is managed by MEI. He has specific responsibility for Higher Education Liaison and Higher Level Problem Solving within the AMSP.
Chris gained a BSc in Mathematics 1997 and completed a PGCE in Primary Education in 1998. He taught in a primary school in 1998-1999 before returning to University to complete a PhD in Pure Mathematics. Since completing his PhD Chris has been a member of staff in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Essex where is currently a Professor, Deputy Head of Department and Employability Development Director. In September 2005 Chris became a Further Mathematics Network Manager and then subsequently a FMSP Area Coordinator before joining the FMSP Central Team in April 2015. In April 2018 Chris became a member of the AMSP National Team.
