This one day course is for vocational teaching staff supporting learners who are working towards Functional Skills Mathematics qualifications at Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2. It focuses on both the essential subject knowledge and strategies for problem solving. We share fresh approaches that can help learners to understand and remember strategies where other methods have not worked for them.

The course is particularly aimed at vocational subject specialists who may be teaching Functional Skills Mathematics, and wish to develop their subject knowledge and explore new approaches to supporting learners. It is suitable for all vocational subjects as we offer a range of contexts – if required the content can be adapted to use examples from specific vocational areas.
