Terms and Conditions of CPD Events

MEI CPD events

By booking any CPD event offered by MEI you are agreeing to all terms and conditions associated with the event.

Event Booking

Please review all of the information you submit in respect of your booking.  By submitting a booking or registration form you confirm that all of the information you submit is accurate, true and complete.

We will send you an email or other written acknowledgement confirming that we have received your request. However, we reserve the right to reject any booking request we receive.

Cancellation

Events for which a fee is charged

You may cancel your place at the event, provided you do so at least 20 days before the event. Should you wish to exercise this right of cancellation please send confirmation in writing to the Teacher Support admin team, preferably by email to [email protected].

Cancellations meeting the requirements above will not be invoiced.

No refunds will be made if a delegate cancels within 20 days of the date of the event.

Events for which attendance is free of charge

You may cancel your place at an event that is free of charge at any stage; however, we would appreciate as much notice as possible of such a cancellation so that we can to offer your place to another participant. To cancel you place, please contact the Teacher Support admin team, preferably by email to [email protected].

We reserve the right to refuse further applications from schools/colleges whose teachers repeatedly fail to notify us that they will not be attending or cancel too close to the date of the event for their place to be reallocated.

Unforeseen Circumstances

Events are subject to cancellation or postponement at our discretion.  If the event is cancelled, we will refund any event fees paid as soon as possible.  If the event is postponed, delegates may be able to transfer their enrolment to the rearranged event/course.

If the time, date, venue or content of the event is changed subsequent to your booking, you will be notified and given the option to cancel your booking and request a refund.  We shall not be liable for any additional loss, travel expenses, teacher release or damage resulting from such cancellation.

Training Materials and other Resources (Intellectual Property)

Copyright and all other intellectual property rights for all training materials shall remain the property of MEI. You agree not to sell or hire training materials (in whole or in part) and not to use such materials except for the purposes of post-event reference.  You may use MEI learning resources provided during the event to support your teaching following the event.  You agree not to audio or video record an event or any part of an event using any recording device. Any access to MEI’s online learning platform, Integral, provided as part of the event is subject to Integral’s terms and conditions.

Training at the customer’s premises

All of the above terms and conditions also apply to training taking place at the customer’s premises unless varied by terms and conditions set out below.

Event Booking

After an initial enquiry has been received, a member of the Teacher Support admin team will liaise with your centre to confirm the content and date of your event.  Once an event has been confirmed by the centre, written confirmation will be provided within 72 hours.  We may arrange for materials, as appropriate to the type of event, to be delivered to you 48 hours before the event.

The number of delegates should not exceed the number agreed at the time of booking unless MEI has consented to the change in advance of the event.

Invoicing

Once the event is agreed, an invoice will be generated 20 days before the event date.  The invoice will include travel and subsistence costs for MEI’s presenter.

Cancellation

All cancellations of centre-based training events must be made in writing to the Teacher Support Admin Team, preferably by email to [email protected].

No cancellation fee will be charged if a minimum of 20 calendar days’ notice is given prior to the date on which the event begins. Otherwise the full event fee is liable to be charged.  Relevant expenses already incurred by MEI will be invoiced immediately a cancellation is received.

Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event that the presenter cannot attend on the day, for example due to illness or adverse weather conditions, MEI will rearrange the event for a later date or make a full refund.

Online events

MEI accepts no responsibility in relation to technical faults occurring in your centre or with your IT equipment prior to or during an event.  No refund for an event will be given if your equipment fails during or before an event and you are unable to take part.

MEI will not be liable for any actual or indirect losses or costs incurred by the participant in connection with any aspect of their equipment and/or its failure during an event.

Other important terms

Expenses incurred in relation to the provision of a CPD event (including venue hire) must be invoiced to MEI within 12 months of the confirmed event date and must be supported by a valid funding application. Any liability for event funding beyond 12 months having lapsed will not be reimbursable.

We may update or amend these terms and conditions of sale from time to time to comply with law or to meet our changing business requirements without notice to you. Any updates or amendments will be posted on this page.

If any of these terms and conditions of sale is found to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, the rest of these terms and conditions of sale shall remain in full force and effect.

These terms and conditions of sale are governed by English law.
