Year 6 Teacher CPD

Year 6 - Securing Greater Depth: Elegant solutions to problems

Aims of the course

This course is designed for Year 5 and 6 teachers, Primary Maths Subject Leaders and secondary teachers working in Key Stage 3 to find out more about what it means to work at 'Greater Depth' in Year 6. During the session there will be opportunities to consider activity ideas and classroom strategies to encourage pupils to think deeply and make connections in mathematics. When pupils are able to draw on these connections in their mathematical understanding, they are able to find more elegant solutions to problems.
