MEI launches its first annual impact report

MEI has today launched its first annual impact report, highlighting its work over the academic year 2024-25 and the difference this has made to maths education.

Spanning maths education from primary school to university entry, the report outlines the extensive reach of MEI’s programmes across education sectors and their positive impact on teachers and students.

Among the many successes, the report highlights that:

  • 49,200 hours of teacher CPD were provided by the AMSP, with 98% of teachers reporting a positive impact on their teaching
  • Over 3,000 state school students attended maths entry study days and over 2,000 received 20+ hours of support for university maths progression
  • Teachers downloaded 475,809 Oak National Academy maths lessons created by MEI
  • 3 in every 5 FE colleges in England took part in the FE Maths Challenge, inspiring Level 2 retake students across the country
  • 1,718 teams across 21 countries took part in the Ritangle competition, strengthening students’ ability to solve challenging maths problems

This work was made possible through the hard work and dedication of MEI’s people and the support of funders and partners, who play an essential role in our mission to improve lives through maths education.

Vicky Pope and Charlie Stripp said:

“As Chair of Trustees and Chief Executive we get to influence and witness how our work helps create a society where everyone can become proficient in maths and no-one is held back by poor maths skills. This report highlights some of the work that MEI has done over the last academic year and celebrates the reach and impact of our work.”
