A word from our sponsor – White Rose Education

White Rose Education is proud to be a sponsor of the MEI Conference.

We work with teachers and schools to support high-quality maths teaching through carefully designed resources and professional development. Our approach is rooted in research and classroom practice, with a focus on helping teachers deliver a coherent curriculum that builds deep understanding over time.

Supporting secondary maths

Our latest Version 3 (V3) secondary schemes of learning have been developed to support clear progression across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

The schemes are structured into small, carefully sequenced steps that:

  • build secure understanding of key concepts
  • make connections across topics
  • support consistency across departments

They are designed to be flexible and adaptable, supporting both subject specialists and non-specialists in delivering effective lessons.

Connecting maths and science

Our V3 secondary schemes strengthen links between maths and science, helping pupils apply their mathematical understanding in a wider context.

This includes:

  • consistent approaches to key concepts such as ratio, graphs and proportional reasoning
  • alignment with scientific applications where mathematics supports understanding
  • maths topics are first introduced in maths lessons

Classroom resources

Whilst our schemes of learning are completely free, our low-cost high-quality supporting resources can support in reducing teacher workload.

Worksheets and assessments give students ample opportunity to recall and apply key knowledge from each small step, with interleaved questions to support long-term retention.

Adaptable teaching slides feature retrieval opportunities, modelling, mathematical talk and AfL for each small step. Every set of teaching slides is adaptable to ensure teachers can quickly and easily adapt them to suit their class.
