Inderpal Bahia

Inderpal Singh Bahia joined the Board of Mathematics in Education and Industry in March 2026 as an Early Career Trustee. He holds an MSc in Mental Health and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and currently works as a Strategy and Performance Manager at Aston University, where he supports senior leadership with strategic planning, performance insight and decision-making.

His interest in mathematics education is shaped by both his professional experience and his own journey through education, where he has seen how confidence and perception can influence engagement with maths as much as ability. He is particularly passionate about widening participation and ensuring that maths feels accessible, relevant and “for everyone”, recognising the important role it plays in shaping future opportunities.

Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and is always looking for new places to explore.
