Census lessons

MEI has worked in collaboration with Let’s Count! to produce two lessons which can be used in the build-up to the Census 2021 population announcement in early summer 2022.

The What can we learn from the census? lesson introduces children to the census. They can use
the website, Nomis, to explore data about their school, their local area and their
homes from past censuses.

The Health and the census lesson teaches children how the census can be used to
inform decisions. It can also be used to discuss what the data tells us about our local
area, its residents and their health.
