Help your high-attaining students turn A grade potential into A* results.

This on-demand professional development course complements the masterclasses as part of the mA*ths and Further mA *ths Programme. The course gives teachers structured, practical support to challenge and stretch able learners to achieve top grades in their exams.

The course has two parts: Part 1 focuses on Year 12 (AS) content and Part 2 on Year 13 A level content, and you can enrol on either or both. Each unit includes four recurring page types—Spotlight on…, Differentiation, A challenging task, and Unpicking a question (drawn from the accompanying student course). You will have access to short videos and prompts for reflection. You’ll collaborate with peers and tutors via online forums and can access materials any time, day or night, for up to one year.

By the end, you will have a bank of adaptable resources and approaches across core A level Further Mathematics topics. You will have deeper insight into the mathematics and pedagogy that most benefits high attainers, and have a supportive professional network focused on raising attainment to A*. ‑attainers, and have a supportive professional network focused on raising attainment to A*.

Yes. The on-demand course is created to be completed alongside the mA*ths and Further mA*ths Masterclass.

We encourage all participants to complete at least one on-demand course before coming to the in-person masterclass.

Our on-demand courses offer complete flexibility to your learning, access anywhere, anytime and study at your own pace via MEI’s Integral Learning Platform.

The on-demand courses and the masterclass are free to teachers of state-funded schools and colleges.

Please note that due to funding restrictions, these courses will not be available to teachers from other establishments.

There is no limit on how many on-demand courses you can do. Each course will have a Year 12 section and a Year 13 section. You can sign up to do as many of the courses as you wish.

We only ask that you complete at least one of the on-demand courses before you attend the masterclass.
