COURSE OVERVIEW

Explore how we can develop deep and sustained understanding and support children in achieving success in end of Key Stage assessments.

A half-day interactive session that aims to consider what works at a greater depth looks like.

You will look at how lessons can be designed to encourage children to make connections between key mathematical concepts (e.g. fractions, ratios and proportions) and to think about the most elegant way to solve a problem. There will also be an opportunity to consider the role of questioning and also to look at questions at the end of KS2 test papers and what it means to solve them with ‘greater depth’.

You will consider the way we want to develop mathematical thinking and support children in making links between key areas of the curriculum so that they can work flexibly, applying strategies based on connected mathematical concepts.

1 online study session
The course is offered via Zoom and as a face-to-face course. Please contact our team to discuss options.
