Enhanced Further Education Maths CPD Programme: Supporting Student Progress

Thanks to new Department for Education (DfE) grant funding, MEI is enhancing its Further Education Maths CPD Programme to improve teaching and maths outcomes for learners aged 16–19, up to Level 2, studying as part of the Condition of Funding. 

Designed to address the priorities and challenges FE providers face, the programme offers practical, evidence-informed professional development that fits around teachers’ schedules and helps students progress towards a level 2 maths qualification. 

What’s available with the updated programme? 

Further Education Maths CPD Menu – Work with MEI to design a bespoke professional development programme, shaped to your college’s priorities and your teachers’ needs. 

Extended Courses – In-depth learning focused on key areas: 
• Teaching GCSE Maths Resit 
• Leaders of Maths in Further Education 
• Teaching Functional Skills Maths 

National Online Events – Half-termly events, creating opportunities for FE maths teachers to connect, collaborate, and build a strong professional community. 

FE Maths Matters Newsletter – Stay up to date with essential insights, practical resources, and sector news.
