Year 7 Get Calculating! lesson plan – Divide and conquer!

This is a lesson to support Year 7 students in becoming more familiar with some key features of calculators and encourage appropriate and effective use.

A PowerPoint to support the activities is also available.

The lesson builds on ideas in the Year 6 Get Calculating lesson, ‘What is a fraction?’. It contains a series of activities which focus on the use of the fraction keys and the S-D key, aims to develop understanding of fractions as division and strengthen knowledge of fraction and decimal equivalence.
