Get well-prepared for university admissions tests
Several prestigious universities ask students who apply for their maths-related degree courses to take admission tests. These may include:
- STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) Mathematics
- MAT (Mathematics Admission Test)
- TMUA (Test of Mathematics for University Admission)
These tests may form a part of the offer for a place on the course, or may reduce the UCAS points score required. They’re usually required in addition to specific A level grades, or alternative qualifications.
We offer a range of courses to support students who are preparing to take these tests. You can find details of these courses on the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme website, together with further information about the tests, and advice and guidance on developing your problem-solving skills.
