Education

David has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics, a masters in Economics and a PhD in Combinatorics.

David has been a trustee of MEI since March 2018.  In 1992, following two years as a lecturer in Statistics and Operational Research at the University of Essex he moved to Keele University to take up a lectureship in Pure Mathematics. He stayed at Keele until taking early retirement in June 2020.

David’s involvement with MEI began in 2006 when he set up and managed the Keele Further Maths Centre as part of the Further Mathematics Network. He has contributed numerous sessions at the MEI Conference including a plenary in 2015.

David continues to be active in maths education at a local and national level. He is a member of the Stoke Mathematics Excellence Partnership, an assessment specialist for Cambridge Assessment and a textbook author.
