Primary Transition

Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5

The transition from GCSE to post-16 maths is often challenging for some students, so it’s crucial that Key Stage 4 students feel confident in their understanding of maths so that they feel well prepared for further study. This is especially true for students with the minimum entry requirements to progress to level 3 maths courses and will benefit from additional support to encourage them to continue studying maths post-16.

MEI offers support via the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP), which aims to increase the number of students studying AS/A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and level 3 Core Maths.
