Apply for a bursary

Further Education Bursary

We are pleased to offer 25 free places to attend the MEI Conference, thanks to Department for Education funding through our Further Education CPD Maths Programme.

Eligibility

Applications for the bursary are open to teachers of maths in Statutory Further Education Settings in England who teach students subject to the Government’s Condition of Funding policy.

Applications

As part of the application process, applicants must submit an Impact Statement of no more than 250 words, outlining how they intend to use their experience at the MEI Conference to inform their own teaching and learning in post-16 compulsory maths.

Decisions

  • The Bursary Committee will award bursaries at its discretion, taking into account the Impact Statement and factors such as any previous bursaries awarded to the applicant or their institution.
  • Decisions will be communicated after the new year.

Successful applicants will be expected to submit a short post-conference reflection after the close of the Conference.

Science Studio Bursary

We are grateful to Science Studio for their generous funding of 20 conference bursaries.

Eligibility

These bursaries are designed to broaden participation and are available to teachers who have not attended any of the past three MEI conferences. We especially encourage applications from teachers whose school or college is also sending a fee-paying colleague, as having two representatives from the same institution helps ensure that new ideas and approaches are effectively shared with other colleagues.

Applications

As part of the application process, you will be asked to submit an Impact Statement of no more than 250 words, outlining how you intend to use your experience at the MEI Conference to inform your teaching and learning and to share new ideas and approaches with colleagues at your school/college.

Decisions

  • Bursaries will be awarded by Science Studio at its discretion, taking into consideration the applicant’s Impact Statement.
  • Decisions will be communicated after the new year.
