MEI is delighted to announce that the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust (RAFCT) will be supporting the Further Education Maths Challenge (FEMC) for the first time this year!

The FE Maths Challenge is a national competition designed to celebrate the achievements of post-16 students who are working to improve their mathematical skills. Through a series of engaging, team-based problem-solving rounds, the FEMC helps students develop mathematical confidence, resilience and collaboration skills, while showing how maths connects to the real world.
MEI is thrilled that the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust is joining as a supporter of the 2025-26 Challenge. The Trust’s commitment to inspiring young people through STEM education and aviation opportunities aligns perfectly with the aims of the FEMC. As part of its support, the RAFCT will offer an exclusive trip to the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) for the national winning teams — providing a unique opportunity for students to experience world-class aviation and explore future STEM careers.
The RAF Charitable Trust is a future-focused organisation that funds and promotes national STEM initiatives, responding to the UK’s growing need for technical and engineering skills. Its programmes have already reached more than 750,000 young people, inspiring them to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The 2025 Further Education Maths Challenge will take place throughout the academic year, with regional heats leading to a national final in spring 2026.
