COURSE OVERVIEW

Providing you with practical advice on how to use, adapt implement the Oak resources to ensure that they enhance and develop practice for you and your school.

The course will provide you with a deep understanding of the primary maths resources that we have created as a curriculum partner with Oak National Academy.

Over two months, the course supports teachers in developing their understanding of the structure of the Oak Primary Maths Curriculum and how it links to other materials from the Department for Education and the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics). Through practical advice and expert-led discussions, teachers will learn strategies to enhance maths teaching and learning, making a lasting impact on their school’s curriculum.

4 online sessions
All sessions will start at 15:45 on a Tuesday and run for 90 minutes, and will be held via Zoom.

You will also get access to resources related to the course via Oak National Academy.

The Oak National Academy is a free online educational platform offering thousands of lessons and resources for teachers to use within their classrooms. Aligned with the national curriculum, it provides video tutorials, quizzes, and worksheets across a range of subjects. Originally created during the COVID-19 pandemic, it supports remote learning, classroom teaching, and independent study.

MEI worked as a curriculum partner with Oak National Academy to develop full curriculum packages for maths across Key Stages 1 to 4. You can read more about MEIs collaboration with Oak National Academy as a curriculum partner on our website here.

The session will be suitable for maths subject leads, curriculum leads, senior leads and primary maths teachers who have an interest in using the Oak National Academy primary maths resources.
