A Bundle of Graphs app

A Bundle of Graphs is an app for mobile devices and tablets, designed for teaching and learning both in and out of the classroom. Its 6 mini-games each focus on one of the following types of graph:

  • straight line graphs
  • quadratic graphs
  • position-time graphs
  • velocity-time graphs
  • mean from a bar graph
  • mean and median from a bar graph

Guidance on how to play and learn is built into the app, as is a ‘learn mode’ option; this allows the user to play 19 examples in each mini-game and to study the correct answer if they get one incorrect. The ‘gameplay’ scenario is more competitive, challenging the user to get as many correct answers in a 60 second period as possible.

The app can support teaching in a number of ways, such as to recap a topic in an engaging way or to form the main body of a lesson. It can be used:

  • at the front of class; for example, on interactive white-board, engaging students in answering the questions
  • as an in-class activity; with students using school tablets, computers or their own devices to play the app themselves
  • outside the classroom; by encouraging students to download and use the app
