Maths games from around the world

The key aim of this activity is to expose students to a range of maths games from different countries and centuries. Students will explore the many links between different cultures.

This activity is designed to be used with KS3 or KS4 students, although a more in-depth analysis of the strategies would also be useful for KS5 students.

The activities focus on problem-solving and strategy while allowing students to explore and appreciate maths from other cultures. This could be used as a standalone project or as part of a series of problem-solving sessions.

This is a great resource to use during Black History Month to explore maths games in a range of diverse cultures.
