Regular Beauty: Islamic designs

Introduce your students to the idea of constructing Islamic geometric designs and how such designs are historically relevant and used in modern designs.

This activity could be used in a maths club, an enrichment lesson or as a form time activity.

Geometric patterns are highly recognisable visual expressions of Islamic art and architecture. Most are based on the repetition of a single design or motif which can fill a surface in a way that could continue infinitely. Explore this and more in this resource pack.
