Year 6 Get Calculating! lesson plan – Angle poise

A lesson for Year 6 pupils to secure understanding of angles and to explore them in a range of contexts: the environment, a clock face and in quadrilaterals on the coordinate plane by plotting points on a grid.

The activities can be used individually or as a whole lesson. A PowerPoint to support the activities is also available.

The lesson includes opportunities to develop familiarity with protractors. It also provides opportunities to explore using the calculator to calculate exact angles on a clock face.
