International Day of Mathematics

Posted on in News, Events, Resources

The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is a worldwide event that takes place annually on 14 March. The day aims to celebrate and highlight the importance of maths in the world, especially the role it plays in breakthroughs in science and technology.

This year MEI and AMSP are joining the celebration by providing new resources for students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5. The theme of the resources is Maths for a Better World, which we will be looking at through our chocolate eating habits. Alongside these free resources, we are also running a ‘design a poster’ competition, with one winner for each key stage group.

Turing Tumble have kindly donated four of their kits as prizes for the classes with the winning entry in each category. Turing Tumbles are great tools to have in the classroom to help students explore coding and logic. There will also be other smaller prizes up for grabs.
