Applications are open for our Teaching GCSE Mathematics: Live Spring course! This dynamic, comprehensive course is designed to develop both subject knowledge and classroom practice for teachers of GCSE mathematics. Whether you’re new to teaching GCSE mathematics, returning after a break, or simply looking to enhance your teaching skills, this course is perfect for you. 

Course Overview

Teaching GCSE Mathematics: Live focuses on the key foundation topics within Key Stage 4 maths. The course also provides additional insights into the higher-tier content. It’s an excellent opportunity to build confidence and competence in teaching complex GCSE concepts, such as algebra, geometry, probability, and statistics. 

You’ll collaborate with fellow educators, discuss classroom strategies, and engage in solving complex problems under the guidance of expert tutors. These sessions will equip you with practical techniques for addressing the diverse learning needs of students, helping you to ensure your lessons are effective and engaging. 

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for teachers looking to strengthen their subject knowledge and improve their classroom practice. It’s ideal for newly qualified maths teachers, teachers returning to the classroom after a break, or experienced KS3 maths teachers wanting to deepen their understanding of GCSE content. 

Additionally, if you’re a teacher from another subject who has been asked to teach Year 9, 10, or 11 maths, this course will provide the knowledge and tools you need to succeed. Non-specialist mathematics teachers will benefit from the structured approach to learning these key topics. 

Course Content

The course consists of ten online sessions covering essential topics such as ratios, trigonometry, quadratics, and probability. Participants will also engage with pedagogical themes like building confidence, deepening understanding, and using digital technology in the classroom. 

In addition to the live sessions, you’ll have access to self-paced learning modules to reinforce your knowledge of the topics.

The course costs £195 for ten live sessions, including access to recordings and self-paced learning modules. For an additional £95, you can enhance your experience by signing up for Teaching GCSE Mathematics Extra, after completing Teaching GCSE Mathematics: Live. This additional course includes eight pre-recorded sessions on many other parts of the GCSE curriculum.
