Overview

We will look at how ratio tables can transform the way students answer many questions in functional skills and GCSE maths.   They offer an effective way of working with proportion and can support learners across many topic areas by reducing cognitive load and the need to memorise so many formulae.

Aims

• To understand the benefits of using alternative, informal methods
• To begin to use ratio tables as a model to support a range of topics 
• To gain an insight into maths mastery
