Organised by the AMSP and the University of Bath, this day is aimed at girls in Years 8 and 9 to inspire them mathematically and to broaden their awareness of where maths could lead them.Aims

Who will benefit from attending?
The event is aimed at those students who would benefit from studying level 3 mathematics after GCSE, though you may want to consider other students within your school or college. It will inform students about their options for studying mathematics after GCSE. No knowledge of mathematics beyond that expected at Key Stage 3 will be assumed, challenge is provided via the context.
Content
The day will feature a talk on Shape and Smoke Rings from Nicole Cozens (Think Maths), a session on Chasing Storms with Dr Emily Walsh (UWE) as well as workshops and Q&A with university students.Other information
Students must be accompanied by a teacher from their school who will remain responsible for them at all times.
Students should bring a packed lunch. Teachers will be provided with lunch.
Eligibility
This event is open to state-funded schools and is free of charge.
Schools are initially limited to 15 female students, or students who identify as female, from Year 8 or 9.
