The DfE has published non-statutory Mathematics guidance for Key Stage 3. This guidance was prepared by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). It contains extensive, practical advice, guidance, and examples for teaching Key Stage 3 maths, with a focus on building deep, sustainable understanding, that students can build on at Key Stage 4 and beyond.
Charlie Stripp, MEI’s Chief Executive and Director of the NCETM said, “I strongly recommend that secondary school maths teachers use this new KS3 National Curriculum guidance. It supports teaching in a way that will encourage your students to really engage with and understand maths.”.
