Nesta partnership

Posted on in News

MEI is delighted to have been selected to be part of the EdTech R&D Programme, which is managed by Nesta in partnership with the Department for Education.

Over the coming months we will work with a number of Partner Schools in England to improve the mobile device functionality of Integral, our maths virtual learning environment. We will be exploring offline access and improving teacher training and implementation for specific student needs. We will also produce a new set of interactive resources to support A level Mathematics, specifically designed to be accessible from mobile phones and to use minimal mobile data. The aim is to better support the remote learning of socioeconomically disadvantaged students who are only able to access Integral using a mobile phone.

The EdTech R&D programme is part of the EdTech Innovation Partnership between Nesta and the DfE. It aims to support schools, colleges and remote learning EdTech providers to understand the needs of their learners in a remote context. Schools, colleges and EdTech providers will be supported to develop innovative new ways to meet the needs of learners facing a variety of disadvantages, from socioeconomic to special educational needs.
