Applications are now open for our popular Data Science Taught Course.

This course is perfect for A level Mathematics or Core Maths students interested in enhancing their knowledge of Data Science.

Course Overview

Throughout the course, students will deepen their understanding of fundamental Data Science concepts and develop their practical skills. Additionally, they’ll explore how to derive valuable insights about data, using technology. The course provides an excellent foundation for students looking to advance their studies or pursue a career in data science.

The course spans 11 weekly live online lessons delivered through our Integral platform. Students will be provided with supporting study material and assessed through a practical assessment task and a short examination.

MEI tutors handle the teaching and marking of these assessments, while schools/colleges are responsible for administering the examination. All students who successfully complete the course and assessments will be awarded with an MEI certificate.

Course Content

Throughout the term-long course, students will explore a range of concepts related to Data Science, including domain knowledge, exploratory data analysis, data presentation, modelling, and machine learning.

Each lesson will also include opportunities for students to explore hands-on coding tasks using Python. It should be noted that no prior knowledge of Python is required. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to work with real-world data from diverse fields, including the environment, commerce, sport and business.
