Registration is now open for the FE Maths challenge!

Posted on in News

Our Further Education (FE) Maths Challenge is back for the 2024/25 academic year!

We are happy to announce that applications are now open to join this exciting mathematical challenge. If you have students working towards gaining a Functional Skills maths qualification or improving their GCSE Mathematics grade, this is perfect for them.

Last year, we had eighty-two colleges competing in the competition, with an incredible 32,000 students taking part in over 4,500 classrooms! This year, we want to increase that number to give more students the chance to become more confident in their maths ability and boost their self-belief.

Joining the FE Maths Challenge can be a game-changer for your students! Over 80% of students who participated in the past have reported a significant boost in their confidence in maths.

Who is the FE Maths Challenge for?

The competition is open to any student in 16-19 education (or, in the case of an EHCP, aged up to 25) who still needs to achieve a grade of 4 or above in GCSE Mathematics. Students aged below 16 on 1 September 2024 and those on adult courses are not eligible for this competition.

There are three entry categories:

The Funkies – For students whose highest GCSE grade is a grade 1
Ein2steins – For students whose highest GCSE grade is a grade 2
Go forth – For students whose highest GCSE grade is a grade 3

This year, the FE Maths Challenge applications close on 29 November, and the first round starts in December. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity!

Once signed up, you will be contacted by a member of our team and given an information pack, guidance notes, and a choice of dates for briefing sessions. As well as a link to where you can locate all of the resources needed for the FE Maths Challenge.
