We’re excited to announce that after the success of its first season, our MEI Podcast, Digging for the Why (DFTW), is back for season two!
What is Digging for the Why all about?
Digging for the Why? is an MEI podcast where we discuss everything from the classroom culture pedagogically, and the shifting emotional landscape of maths education.
If you missed season one, Andy and Alison discussed the transition between Key Stages 2 and 3. We also explored how asking ‘Why’ can help with continuity between years 5 to 8.
Season two of Digging for the Why takes the question of why we Dig for the Why to a much broader audience and outside of the maths classroom.
What to Expect in Season Two
We explore topics including rethinking classroom dynamics, the changing emotional landscape around maths education, moving away from traditional teaching models and changing perceptions of maths education.
Your hosts, Andy, Head of Learning Technology at MEI, and Alison, Primary Maths Specialist, bring over 40 years of combined experience in teaching to their conversations. We also get invaluable insight from a range of special guests: Ben Sparks, Alex Bellos, Catriona Agg, Ed Southall, and more.
Delve into a journey of asking ‘Why’ in education and explore pedagogy-based classroom discussion. Whether you start teaching in September or you’ve been teaching for 20 years, this podcast has something for everyone.
Season two will consist of six episodes, each 45-60 minutes long. This makes it perfect for listening on the commute to work or while doing the dishes.
